Dale Samms

Dale Samms is a Toronto native whose family originates from Jamaica. By the age of 7, his flair for the dramatic arts began manifesting when he started participating in school performances, plays & staged showcases. His developing skills in music performance, both orchestral in his formative school years & in performance blues/jazz guitar furthered his drive in the creative arts.

After studying drama & communications at Humber College & York University, he began his acting career working on a variety of film projects & major motion picture productions including The Recruit, Undercover Brother, Cinderella Man, Against the Ropes & Bulletproof Monk & Death to Smoochy.

He stepped away from acting for a few years to pursue other professional & personal interests (including spending time as a film & unit publicist) & focusing on writing before diving back into acting armed with new perspective & reinvigorated passion for the craft.

Since then, Dale has worked with many top talents including Giancarlo Esposito, Julianna Margulies, Mahershala Ali, Topher Grace, Christopher Lloyd, David Strathairn, Serinda Swan & Tatiana Maslany.

Dale has studied with some of the industry’s most notable coaches from Howard Fine to David Rotenberg to Greg Apps to name a few. He studied screenwriting at George Brown College as later became an alumni with Jeff Gordon’s Writers Boot Camp in LA.

He’s an avid reader whose love for the written word & storytelling have intersected with his work as a screenwriter & story creator. In his downtime, spends time with his family, practices yoga, trains in boxing & parkour & restores classic cars. He’s also a borderline nutrition-freak & a self-proclaimed NBA aficionado (though, sadly, only right on his picks half the time).

Dale’s a full member of Actra, he’s CAEA & SAG/AFTRA eligible.

He’s represented by Premier Artists’ Management Inc.
