We’re living in incredible times. Over the decades, technology has made our world a global community at an ever-increasing pace. We are all more connected than ever, able to know what’s happening on the other side of the globe within moments. That makes for all kinds of good & less than good possibilities.
The warnings medical & population specialists have touted for years have finally come to pass. What we are experiencing now is our first ever global pandemic. This will change the world as we know it & almost certainly won’t be the last one. Social distancing is about to become a normative on some level.
There are pluses here, though. For the possibility of fear isolation can bring, Social distancing is a great opportunity for change; for us to get closer to the person we spend all our time with –ourselves. I read a quote recently that gave me ponderance: “Your elevation will require your isolation. It might feel like you’re losing everything, but to move to the next level, you have to let go of excess baggage”.
Just know being apart from others doesn’t mean being alone. Be in touch, reach out. Connect with loved ones & your communities if only online or even small groups. Check in. Offer support. As much as it feels like we are each alone or in very small circles right now, we’re all still in this thing called life together. Let’s take the time to take care of ourselves so we can better help others.
Stay well out there.
